Peter Vogt, president of Twin Cities-based
Career
Planning Resources, is a career counselor, author, and presenter
who since 1999 has served as The MonsterTRAK Career Coach
for MonsterTRAK,
the college student/recent graduate channel of leading global
career web site Monster.
In that role, he writes weekly career advice articles
and answers dozens of questions each month on the Career
Planning for College Students message board—tasks that
have enabled him to offer career guidance to more than 6,000 students
and grads from across the United States and around the world.
Peter is also author of Career
Wisdom for College Students: Insights You Won't Get in Class,
on the Internet, or from Your Parents, published in May
2007 by Facts
On File of New York City; and co-author of The
College to Career Road Map books, published in October
2006 by Atwood
Publishing of Madison, Wisconsin. He's written more than 300
career articles for MonsterTRAK and Monster as well as other media
outlets such as CollegeJournal.com
and CareerJournal.com
(both produced by The Wall Street Journal). He's also
been interviewed as a career expert by The New York Times,
U.S. News & World Report, Time magazine,
and the bestselling Monster Careers book series.
As publisher of Campus
Career Counselor—a monthly national newsletter
for college/university career services professionals—Peter
identifies and reports on the innovative ways career practitioners
help college students and recent graduates with their career-related
concerns.
And as principal of Introvert
Insights, Peter presents and writes about introverts and careers
for both career practitioners and introverted job seekers/career
changers.
Peter holds a master's degree in counseling from
the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a bachelor's degree
in mass communications from Minnesota State University Moorhead.
He worked in higher education (career services) for three years
and, before that, in the publishing field for four years.
