Peter Vogt, M.S.
President
Career Planning Resources

Peter Vogt, president of Twin Cities-based Career Planning Resources, is a career counselor, author, and presenter who since 1999 has served as The MonsterTRAK Career Coach for MonsterTRAK, the college student/recent graduate channel of leading global career web site Monster. In that role, he writes weekly career advice articles and answers dozens of questions each month on the Career Planning for College Students message board—tasks that have enabled him to offer career guidance to more than 6,000 students and grads from across the United States and around the world.

Peter is also author of Career Wisdom for College Students: Insights You Won't Get in Class, on the Internet, or from Your Parents, published in May 2007 by Facts On File of New York City; and co-author of The College to Career Road Map books, published in October 2006 by Atwood Publishing of Madison, Wisconsin. He's written more than 300 career articles for MonsterTRAK and Monster as well as other media outlets such as CollegeJournal.com and CareerJournal.com (both produced by The Wall Street Journal). He's also been interviewed as a career expert by The New York Times, U.S. News & World Report, Time magazine, and the bestselling Monster Careers book series.

As publisher of Campus Career Counselora monthly national newsletter for college/university career services professionals—Peter identifies and reports on the innovative ways career practitioners help college students and recent graduates with their career-related concerns.

And as principal of Introvert Insights, Peter presents and writes about introverts and careers for both career practitioners and introverted job seekers/career changers.

Peter holds a master's degree in counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a bachelor's degree in mass communications from Minnesota State University Moorhead. He worked in higher education (career services) for three years and, before that, in the publishing field for four years.

Nothing is a waste of time if you use the experience wisely.
